Therapy for Depression & Self-Esteem

Depression Takes Many Forms

Depression isn’t always sadness—sometimes numbness, exhaustion, feeling nothing/you don’t matter. What often underlies depression: low self-worth and beliefs keeping you stuck. When you understand AND shift those core beliefs, depression loosens grip. You don’t just feel better—you change how you relate to yourself.

Approach & Timeline

My Approach

Depression makes sense when you understand it. Low self-worth usually isn’t facts, more commonly, it is beliefs you picked up early. I help understand roots, challenge evidence, so you FEEL different (not just think). We work at nervous system level with EMDR, Brainspotting or ART. Most people find that 12-16 weeks of consistent work leads to meaningful shifts in mood, energy, and how they feel about themselves.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Whether your depression is clinical, situational, or a mix, working on what’s underneath helps. If you’re on medication, therapy complements it beautifully.

Meaningful shifts typically take 8-12 weeks. Deeper pattern change usually takes 4-6 months. That’s often faster than you’d expect because we’re working with both thinking and nervous system.

Great. Medication and therapy work well together. We work with where you are and what you need.

Well, that rarely works. Instead, we understand where the harshness comes from, what it was protecting you from, how it has served you, and what shifts when you change perspective.

That’s quite common. Many people are successful by external measures but feel fundamentally unworthy inside. That disconnect is exactly what therapy addresses.
