Anxiety Therapy for Working Professionals

What Anxiety Looks Like

Anxiety shows up differently—constant worry, physical symptoms (racing heart, tension), perfectionism, panic attacks.  Sometimes it seems to come from nowhere.

Working with someone who understands how anxiety lives in BOTH mind AND body helps to understand and make permanent change.

Types of anxiety I can help with

  • General worry
  • Work-related anxiety and stress
  • Relationship anxiety
  • Perfectionism/performance anxiety
  • Social anxiety
  • Anxiety without a clear trigger
  • Physical symptoms (racing heart, tension, tight chest)
  • Anxiety’s impact on sleep, focus., or relationships

Approach & Timeline

My Approach

I combine an understanding of patterns and nervous system regulation with use of EMDR,  Brainspotting, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and body awareness from somatic work.

These practical tools help create rapid change. Most people think more clearly AND experience increased calm not through trying harder, but through actual shifts in how they think and how their system processes anxiety.

Time Line:

Sessions 1-2: Understanding anxiety.
Sessions 3-6: Working with mind and nervous system. You start noticing shifts.
Sessions 7+: Consolidating change, building resilience.

Most clients notice significant shifts within 8-12 sessions, often much quicker.

METHODS

EMDR
Helps nervous system process threat signals differently. Effective for anxiety from past experiences.

Brainspotting
Brainspotting works by guiding you to fixate a specific spot in your visual field, which helps access and process deep emotional memories stored in the brain. This focused, efficient approach helps your brain process what’s stuck.

Emotion-Focused Therapy
“Transforming Emotion with Emotion.” EFT taps into your unconscious, altering your perspective on painful experiences and difficult emotions. Understanding your emotions helps you respond to them more effectively.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy
A powerful intervention, usually with immediate, lasting change.  Problems such as phobias, night terrors, and traumatic memories can be resolved, often in as little as one or two sessions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Not unless you want to. Especially with ART, if trauma is present, you can clear it without even talking about it. Some anxiety connects to past experiences, some doesn’t.

That’s between you and your doctor. I work with you whether you’re on medication or not. Some people find therapy alone helps, some combine it with medication, some do both.

Most people notice shifts within 3-6 weeks. You’ll start thinking more clearly or feeling less physical tension. Real change in how you relate to anxiety typically takes 8-12 weeks.

Many people have found talk therapy wasn’t enough. I combine somatic approaches, advanced mid-brain therapies like Brainspotting and Accelerated Resolution Therapy to improve your symptoms by permanently resolving the issues.

Yes. Panic attacks are terrifying, in that most people feel like they are literally going to die. We’ll work  on preventing them, finding the source of the panic, and changing your relationship with panic. These are usually extremely effective approaches.
