I’ve spent 30+ years understanding how trauma lives in the nervous system and body. I started somatically, working with clients where traditional talk therapy had failed. Now, I integrate that deep understanding with evidence-based trauma therapies like ART and Brainspotting.
Many people are surprised by how efficient trauma work can be when it’s done with the right methods. You don’t have to spend years processing trauma. Real shifts can happen in weeks or months.
EMDR
Helps nervous system process threat signals differently. Effective for anxiety from past experiences.
Brainspotting
Targets where anxiety lives in your visual field and midbrain. A focused, efficient approach that helps your brain process what’s stuck.
Emotion-Focused Therapy
“Transforming Emotion with Emotion.” EFT taps into your unconscious, altering your perspective on painful experiences and difficult emotions. Understand your emotions and respond to them more effectively.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Powerful intervention with immediate, lasting change. Problems such as phobias, night terrors, and traumatic memories can be resolved, often in as little as one or two sessions.
Session 1-2: Assessment & Stabilization
Understanding your trauma and how it affects you now
Building safety and grounding tools
Preparing your nervous system for processing
Session 3+: Processing
Using ART, Brainspotting, or somatic approaches to process the trauma
Your brain and nervous system do the work—my job is to facilitate it
Sessions may be intense, but most people find relief quickly
Throughout: Integration
Understanding what shifts
Noticing how you relate to the trauma differently
Building resilience and new resources
Sometimes you may have to think about it, but you won’t have to relive it in an overwhelming way. Other times, you can process it without ever talking about it, such as with ART. These methods help your brain and nervous system process it more efficiently than traditional talk therapy.
Talking about trauma can help, but it doesn’t necessarily process it out of your nervous system, and handled improperly, can actually retraumatize you. In my 30+ years of experience, I’ve learned how to help clients safely manage even difficult traumas without flooding or overwhelming. Advanced methods such as Brainspotting, ART, and Emotion Focused Therapy work directly with how your brain and body store and process traumatic material.
It depends on the trauma. Single-incident trauma might resolve in 3-8 sessions. Complex or repeated trauma typically takes longer. We’ll have a sense after the first few sessions.
No. You’ll remember it, but it will lose its emotional charge. You’ll think about it without being triggered. It becomes a memory, not a defining experience.
Yes. ART, Brainspotting, and trauma-informed work all work well online.
I’ve specialized in trauma work for 30+ years—starting with somatic bodywork for clients where talk therapy wasn’t effective, and more recently integrating that deep understanding with ART, Brainspotting, and evidence-based talk therapy
